Overview
Cyber security is a major priority for governments, banks and other organisations throughout the world. Never before has the world been so vulnerable to cyber attacks. Most countries and organisations are increasing their cyber protection budgets for more security and protection. There is an increasing demand for skilled cyber security professionals with expertise and skills. Despite the advanced development of artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies, we still need talented graduates for tackling cybercrimes.
There are countless good reasons why a degree in cyber security is worth the investment. In fact, by one crucially important metric you could say there are 3.5 million reasons — that’s the estimated number of unfilled cybersecurity jobs worldwide by 2021, up from roughly 1 million unfilled positions today.
The qualification has three stages, each comprising 120 credits. The first two stages including an Undergraduate Level 4/5 Diploma in Cyber Security is a 240 credit course designed to progress to the third stage final year of an Undergraduate BSc (Hons) Cyber Security, which can be studied on campus at Anglia Ruskin University Cambridge campus. The course is made up of 5 Level 4 compulsory modules and 1 optional module with a total of 120 credits and 4 Level 5 compulsory modules comprising 120 credits. If students decide to only study at level 4, they will only receive 120 credits and can get an exemption from year 1 of a UK undergraduate degree.
